Kelly & Todd’s National Zoo engagement session was truly unique for me as it was my first time to the DC Zoo. How have I never been to this fantastic place?! Todd is a volunteer there and between Kelly & himself they have accumulated a mini zoo at home complete with cats, dogs & fish. In fact, Kelly is trying to find a way to bring home the cow, elephant & red panda, while Todd has his eye on the panda & cheetah. I was pleased to re-meet Kelly & Todd again, as I had met them about a 1 1/2 years ago at Erin & JP’s wedding which my sister & I photographed, and now it’s their turn to tie the knot. I’m so thankful for Erin’s wonderful wedding that has sent me some fabulous clients and new friends. You never know when you are auditioning for a future bride & groom! The story of how Todd proposed is indeed one of my faves – complete with the week-long intensive training of Kelly’s cat to wear a ribbon & ring around his neck, asking his future-father-in law/jeweler for permission and assistance with the perfect ring, the kitty executing the proposal perfectly resulting in Kelly’s “what?!” -to her complete surprise & delight. I’m really looking forward to Kelly & Todd’s wedding May at Ceresville Mansion!
