I have anxiously been awaiting this wedding for months now. When Mandy mentioned there would be cowboy boots, purple glitter Toms, sweet tea, pearls & an awesome band…I was smitten. When we did their engagement session at JMU, in the stadium nonetheless, the day full of laughter & stories (and their dog June came from my hometown!) I knew we were a perfect fit. To say that Mandy + Taylor have a good time together would be an understatement. They are so obviously head over heels in love, really truly enjoying each other’s company. They make each other laugh with ease, high five and hold hands tightly. They are a team.
Their day was filled with so many personalized details from the handwritten journal Taylor gifted her, the little locket photos of her grandparents adorning the bouquet, Duke Dog, even the Maridor’s flower beds coincidentally matched the purple & gold wedding colors, a borrowed veil from her bridesmaid Lara (one of my brides!), super cute monogrammed robes (that they wore to lunch at a popular restaurant), Â June their dog, and the most amazing group of family & friends.
Taylor bleeds purple & gold and runs the Duke Club at JMU so as a surprise to him, the Duke Dog made a special guest appearance (after “Enter Sandman” for us VT folks) and the grand exit with the Duke football tradition of throwing purple & gold streamers. Both myself & the front yard of the Maridor looked like the aftermath of a frat house toilet paper prank – so fun!!!)  What’s even better? Mandy + Taylor opted for a “first look” and we were able to get so much more portrait time in for both the two of them and the bridal party – so there are alot more photos PLUS they could get to their amazing reception quicker!  Which by the way, the Bryan Elijah Smith band rocked it out  and I had the hardest time not busting a move on the dancefloor myself. Ok, so I danced in my own spot, I totally couldn’t help it.
Congrats Mandy + Taylor. You had the most amazing “southern glam” wedding complete with team spirit, great music & sweet tea. It stole my heart. I am so very thankful you choose me to join in the celebration. Drink a Bahama Mama with a little umbrella for me 🙂 xo
