I am most definitely a DIY kinda girl, stalking Pinterest for new ideas is my favorite new past-time. I’m pretty sure I’ll never do the majority of those fun projects I pin, but I’m going to make a goal to put all those hours of pinning to use and get some projects done! I must admit, that as many projects I take on, when it comes to my house I have really resisted decorating it – I don’t know if it was because I just didn’t have the time, didn’t think I was there enough to enjoy it, didn’t have the money, or I thought I would be moving soon… my poor house was just plain jane because of it. Now, I’ve decided that there is no sense to not have my cute house show it’s personality and mine…so look out HGTV, here I come.
The art wall is front & center in my kitchen on my Sherwin Williams “lemon meringue” painted walls.
Frames: Michaels / Walmart (natural wood painted white with acrylic paint)
Prints: Etsy
The initials were created using flat wooden letters & yarn (Michaels). I wrapped the yarn very tightly starting at one of the edges of the letter & secured it by tying it it a knot on the back side (so it wasn’t visible). You can also use duct tape or glue. The “&” was near impossible to find so I printed off a large one to use as a template, then cut it using a skill saw & scrap wood, painted with gold acrylic paint.
