When I showed up to Photograph Josh & Jill’s beautiful wedding this past 4th of July in Wilmington, N.C. at the Cape Fear river deck, I knew that I would like them, so would my Canon. 🙂 So when Jill contacted me to take some holiday portraits for Christmas, I jumped at the opportunity to revisit downtown Wilmington and this fun (military!) couple (now I REALLY like them!). Josh’s boys, Sam and Christian (affectionately dubbed “Kitch”), were no strangers to my clicking shutter, mentioning something to the effects of how much they liked Rebecca and I being the wedding photographers, kind of like the paparazzi (but hopefully not as car chasing crazy…). Jill was inspired by colorful textures and the industrial backgrounds of downtown, looking for family portraits that could be used for holiday cards but not limiting ourselves to a Christmas theme, images that could be framed in their house year round. (sidenote: anyone know what the deal is with all of the keys hooked to the fence downtown? We could find no explanation, but I loved it!) It was pretty chilly out that Saturday in Wilmington, hard to believe, I know, but a slightly overcast weather report proved awesome for lighting and everyone was such troopers with the temperature, so we ventured out. Making their debut, here are the newly joined Weaver family members! (Wedding photos to come shortly, as they were shot “pre-blog” days).
Josh & Jill, you guys seriously rock. Thanks for putting up with me and my ridiculous requests, hiking all over town, and pretty much reading my mind when I am inspired and can hardly get a full sentence out other than “oh, yeah, that’s perfect. Awesome. Now Jill, you, yeah, do that. Josh, put your arm, yeah, perfect.” & be prepared for the cuteness that are Josh’s munchkins. Next Weaver family session….Hawaii? 😉 I know Jill needs no convincing…
