I am currently obsessed with BB cream & dry shampoo. Pathetic I know. When it comes to beauty products I am such a girly girl though. Not to mention they are super inexpensive compared to the other beauty products I adore.
BB cream, also known as “beauty balm or blemish balm” is currently one of Asia’s top makeup products & now mine. It’s also known as “the secret to Korean actresses”. It boasts soothing & skin repairing qualities as well as immediate coverage. It reminds me of a tinted moisturizer + concealer + UV protection.
My favorite BB cream is the Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector – I feel it has better coverage for my freckles/hyperpigmentation that I just can’t seem to get rid of. I thought it was fading (at least I hoped it was after all the money I had dropped on Cliniques dark spot corrector amongst other products) until a fun in the sun weekend in Miami last year brought it back with full force. Sooooo not worth laying in the sun. Some of the more popular brands in Asia are of course different than we are starting to see over here, but by the looks of it most makeup companies are jumping on the BB bandwagon with new products.
Then there is my dry shampoo. My hair guy – who by the way is the best ever, has been getting after me for washing my hair daily. I just can’t help it. It’s so long & thick that it gets oily and dirty looking quick, as in the next day – leaving me looking like a hot mess. And there is just something about taking a shower that makes me want to wash my hair. I know that washing it daily isn’t good for your hair, plus “dirty” hair holds curl and style better. So I tried all of his suggestions like rinsing instead of shampooing every other day, putting it up in a bun, grin & bear it. Didn’t work. I had tried a dry shampoo before that was a spritz type, like liquid hairspray and that just made it even worse. I ran across an ad in People Style (LOVE LOVE LOVE that magazine) & decided to give it a go. I’m sure other brands are just as good (PSSST & Redken to name a few) but my favorite Suave dry shampoo is FABULOUS! It uses mineral clay to refresh hair so it’s not oily between washes and it really is a dry aerosol, so you can put it on dry hair. I’ve been using this every other day now for a few weeks and I’m loving it. I’m sure my hair is too.
