With a name like Ruby would you expect any other gemstone in your class ring? 😉 Miss Ruby is quite the southern gal complete with her coonhound companion and guitar-even her name is rolls off your tongue with a southern drawl. Oh how I loved that guitar – and the girl has quite an extensive & challenging playlist too. She serenaded me with an acoustic “House of the Rising Sun” among other classic rock tunes, strumming the six-string like she wrote it! I always encourage my seniors to bring props, whether it be instruments, sports, uniforms, pets, cars…whatever is important to them and reflective of their personality & interests so we can incorporate it into their session. And I’m a sucker for a guitar – it’s the one instrument that I wish I could play and secretly pretend to when jamming to my ipod or guitar hero (if air guitar was an instrument I could so give lessons). Our session took place on her family’s riverfront property overlooking the mighty James River & if you haven’t had the pleasure of kayaking, tubing, fishing or camping the James you’re missing out & Ruby’s family can hook you up with an awesome campground spot! Congrats Ruby! I look forward to a signed copy your debut album 😉
